Head of People

Dibbs is looking for a Head of People to take on an important role within a rapidly growing Series A funded company. The Head of People will be the first hire in the HR department and be responsible for building a leading human resources and recruitment department, bringing in top-talent and retaining them for the future growth of Dibbs. In this role, you will act as a point contact for all hr, benefit, and payroll related inquiries. Your main responsibility will be to effectively own and manage all people operations (employee engagement, benefits, compensation, wellness, and talent acquisition).

What you’ll do:

  • Provide overall leadership and guidance by overseeing employee career development, succession planning, retention programs, training, and leadership development
  • Ensure the delivery of Dibbs’ employment goals including increasing employee engagement, reducing voluntary attrition, improving diversity metrics, deployment of leadership development, and consistent career management processes.
  • Function as a strategic, human capital business advisor to the senior management team
  • Lead and develop Employee Engagement strategies and activities to ensure Dibbs is continually assessing and improving its management and leadership practices ensuring a highly engaged workforce.
  • Oversee benefit and compensation plans to ensure cost efficiencies and attractiveness to retain top talent
  • Manage Talent Acquisition efforts. Grow the TA function and team to match pace with the velocity of the business
  • Establish quantitative metrics and goals for employee growth, engagement, retention, and DEI


Skills and knowledge you should possess:

  • 6+ years of people operations experience
  • 2+ years in a management role at an early-stage company (<200 people, series A/B funding, or comparable)
  • A problem solver, you ask the right questions to uncover root cause and can quickly iterate to a final, well-thought-out result, that is backed up by evidence
  • Ability to manage the people operations function and the talent/recruiting function
  • Driven by data, understanding that metrics drive outcomes, and therefore a deep desire to uncover the metrics that drive the biggest impact
  • Willingness to learn and grow into a seasoned leader at a fast-growing company
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Great to Have Experience but not required: Portuguese (Brazilian), Namely, Gusto, Veem, and Ease
